About Miamisburg, OH - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Situated in Montgomery County, Ohio, Miamisburg is a city within the Dayton metropolitan area. With a population of more than 20,200 residents, it’s famous for its large industry and retail commercial developments. However, the Miamisburg Mound - one of the largest conical mounds in the United States - is probably the best-known symbol of the city, which borders West Carrollton, Miami Township, and Springboro.

Incorporated in 1818, it wasn’t until the 1920s that Miamisburg achieved its city status. After the World War II, the majority of operations from the Dayton area were relocated to the Miamisburg Mound Laboratory, where all aspects of the nation’s nuclear defense stockpile were monitored. In 1947, the Mound Plant was built whose workforce of more than 2,000 workers manufactured plutonium detonators for nuclear arms. The detonator work was discontinued later, and the plant continues to make nuclear-powered generators for space projects.

As of today, the city is home to an abundance of commercial and residential properties, with the downtown area featuring many historic buildings and small stores. A variety of restaurants is also located there including TJ Chumps, as well as other local and national-chain restaurants. Library Park, Baum Opera House and Gebhart Tavern are other historical buildings located in downtown.

The economy of Miamisburg largely depends on the local businesses and corporations operating in the area. Some of the top employers of the city include the Kettering Healthy Network, Kroger, Lowe’s, Avery Dennison, O’Neil & Associates, Motoman, LexisNexis, Best Buy, and Heartland of Miamisburg, among others.

Numerous events are held in Miamisburg throughout the year, such as block parties and live music. “Boo in the Burg” offers food specials for patrons and special shopping during Halloween, while the “Spring Fling” festival and “Spring Break in the Burg” is held every spring. Thunderburg Motorcycle Show and Christmas Starving Arts are other notable annual events. Public education in the city is provided by the Miamisburg City School District, which includes seven elementary schools, one primary school, one middle school, and one high school.

The climate of the city is dominated by a humid continental climate, which is categorized by cold, dry winters and hot, muggy summers. The average high in summer is around 86 degrees, so having an air conditioner that works is an absolute must. Moreover, with the average low in winter around 19 degrees, many residents also have heat pumps for warmth and comfort. The city gets an average of 39 inches of rain and 26 inches of snow annually.
