About Cedarville, OH - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Cedarville, Ohio is a Greene County village located within the Dayton Metro Statistical Area. As of 2010, the population had just surpassed 4,000 residents. Originally known as Milford, this village was founded in 1816. However, when the first post office opened in 1834, it was found that another Milford already existed in the state, so the name was changed to the current Cedarville. Despite the small size of this community, there are numerous churches located here that serve denominations like Baptist, Methodist, and Presbyterian worshipers. A branch of the Greene County Public Library is also available for residents to access, and Cedarville University provides an area opportunity for higher education.

Cedarville is home to two major festivals throughout the year. CedarFest is held over Labor Day weekend, and it includes fireworks, a parade, and local food vendors. In December, the village hosts the Little Town of Lights, in which outdoor caroling, hay rides, and Santa Claus photos are popular.

There are also some interesting attractions located in Cedarville. The Cedarville Opera House, the former center of Cedarville public life, is located downtown, and it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Outdoor activities are also popular here, including Massie Creek Park and Peterson Park.

The weather in Cedarville varies quite dramatically throughout the year. Summers are typically muggy and hot, with average summer highs reaching the mid-80s. Temperatures will exceed 90 degrees about a dozen days per year, making it crucial that residents have access to an air conditioning system at home in order to beat the heat. Alternatively, winters are cold with moderate snow, and seasonal accumulation is around 23 inches. Several nights each season will see temperatures fall below zero, so a heat pump or furnace is vital to keep residents safe and to protect pipes from freezing.
